Favorite Books for Artist Studies

education Favorite Books for Artist Studies

As I've mentioned before, we like to keep our artist studies simple.  Some of our favorite books for learning about artists include:

The Katie and the series by James Mayhew

The What Makes a (artist's name) a (artist's name)? series by Richard Muhlberger

The For Kids series by various authors – Some examples are Monet and the Impressionists for Kids or Leonardo da Vinci for Kids.

What are some of your favorite books for studying artists?

You are absolutely right – we totally love and recommend Katie and her arty adventures… goodness they give you a good idea about a whole collection of great artists.

I have a list of arty articles I have written about how we learn art history, you might like to take a look:

And there is an article embedded in that on Art Appreciation:

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
