A few weeks ago, Amy Lupold Bair shared her top five favorite nostalgic toys of 2008. However, there's one she left off that has always been my favorite – Mr. (and Mrs.!) Potato Head.

For generations, the Mr. Potato Head toys have been favorites of families everywhere, and I have to admit we're no exception. Creative and imaginative, these toys provide hours of fun and laughter for kids of all ages (okay, okay, I admit it – I still love to play with them!).

One of the best commercials during this year's Superbowl was the Bridgestone Tire ad starring Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head. For those of you who missed this hilarious ad, here it is:

Mr. Potato Head also has a Facebook page where he'll be sharing news and hot baked updates while providing a place for fans from all over the world to share their spudtacular adventures!

    Mandi, great post! I have a confession: I never had a Mr. Potato Head when I was a kid. I remember that was the hot (potato) toy at my pre-school, but as I recall the poor spud was missing most of his attachments by the time I entered school. Maybe this is all leading to me buying a Mr. Potato Head for my kids….or entering the contest!

    Mr. Potato Head has a facebook—LOVE IT! I'm with resourceful mommy. I don't think I had a potato head either. I think Lydia and Asa need one!!

    I think it is awesome Mr. Potato Head has a facebook page. I have always been a fan of him. Had one as a kid and I have been thinking recently about getting my kids one. Thanks for the great opportunity!

    I found out that Santa wasn't real by finding a Mr. Potato head game in the ironing basket and realizing that I had asked Santa for one and here Mom was getting me one! So I wrote a new letter to Santa saying I had changed my mind and asking for another gift. Come Christmas I got no Mr. Potato head game. HMMMMM! I thought about that a lot and finally "boing" a lightbulb went off… and I knew that mama was Santa!

    Oh my gosh, I (I mean my KIDS) love Mr/Mrs Potato Head!! And that super bowl commercial cracked us up so much we (at the SB party) rewound it and watched it again! Priceless!

    I remember playing with a Mr. Potato Head, but think it was at a friend's house. I don't remember my mother thinking this was a "worthwhile" toy. But I'm a fan…here /and/ on Facebook! :)

    When I was young I played with Mr Potao Head, when my children were oung they played with Mr. Potato Head, and now my grandchildren just love Mr. Potato Head. I became on fan of Mr. and Mrs.Potato Head on Facebook and left a comment too.

    Wow! I love it that I'm friends with Mr. Pototo head. The cutest thing – once when my son was about two, he was playing quietly for too long, so I went in to check on him. He had added all the Mr.Potato Head parts to a real potoato! It was so cute that he connected that! We still have pictures of the real Mr. Potato Head :) )))

    I am so glad Mr. Potato head is on facebook. I have added myself as a fan. I have had a mr. potato head since the day I was born. I love him!!! I remember spending hours changing playing with him and changing his facial expressions and accessories.

    I just added myself as a fan. I know my daughter would love a Mr potato head, she has a doll that has 2 snap on outfits. And she gets mad that there is not more options. I always loved Mr potatoe head but my sisters lost most of the pieces by the time I got to play with him. But he was still well loved. Thanks
