It's Friday and it's time to Fight the Frump! Remember when our own Alli Worthington used to host this fun Friday event on her blog, Mrs. Fussypants? Well, now she's gotten too famous and important busy to host it, so Fight the Frump can now be found every Friday here on the Style section of Blissfully Domestic! Starting next Friday, there will be a Mr. Linky so you can all link up to YOUR Fight the Frump posts! So get ready! But today, I'll just post a quick note about one of my pet peeves – MOM JEANS!
Ladies, just because you have birthed a baby does not mean you have to wear ugly jeans. I went to a conference for stay-at-home moms this past weekend, and I saw some Mom jeans that made me want to CRY they were so ugly. So ladies, here are some tips for what NOT to wear when it comes to jeans!
1) If your jeans are so tight in the butt that I can see your WEDGIE through DENIM, stop wearing them!
2) If your jeans are so short that you can feel the breeze on your ankles, stop wearing them!
3) If your jeans have pleats on the front, stop wearing them!
4) If the wash of your jeans is lighter than medium blue, stop wearing them!
5) And finally, if your jeans emphasize rather than conceal your tummy, stop wearing them!

Here are some great NON-Mom Jeans – Lee's Slender Secret. What should you look for in a jean?
1) Dark wash – a darker color is dressier and more flattering.
2) Boot cut – this cut will make your legs look longer and is also flattering on all body types.
3) The right rise – if you have a bigger tummy, look for a medium-rise jean. Jeans worn too high will make your middle look bigger and those worn too low will give you the dreaded muffin-top. Which is NEVER cute.
So Fight the Frump, ladies! Ditch those mom jeans and get you a cute, modern pair! And since we don't have a linky up today, check out this funny fashion post, "Should You Be Wearing That?" on Fashion Friday at Redneck Latte.
And come back here next Friday to leave a link to your OWN Fight the Frump posts!

So true- I used to be guilty of the mom jeans things until some loving friends staged a fashion intervention a few years ago. I have to say I feel far less frumpy wearing jeans that don't magnify every roll, sag and waiting to be shaved ankle =)
Down with Mom Jeans!
I agree with every point. My favorite jeans are Coldwater Creek. Just the right mid-rise line. Unfortunately, I am finding myself sized out of women's jeans. Any recommendations on good jeans for smaller sizes?
WHAT?
You don't want to see my wedgie?
For shame.
Lane Bryant is my go to shop for jeans (because I'm EXTRA fabulous, like that!) I always find a good jean with a good fit for me and NO mom jeans!
Me too Malia. I Love Lane Bryant Jeans. In fact thanks to my "unintentional" diet plan over the summer and losing 20 lbs, someone remarked to me this week that I seriously just need to buy a new pair of jeans.
