education Flu Prevention

Regardless of whether your children are schooled at home or in a school system, now is a great time to emphasize the importance of healthy and wise hygiene regarding hand-washing and flu prevention.

At home:

  • Wash hands frequently (when kids walk in the door, before/after meals, after using potty, after touching pets, etc.).
  • Keep germy areas especially clean (doorknobs, counters, bathrooms, etc.).
  • Maintain healthy sleeping and eating habits in order to maximize immune system.

Away from home:

  • Frequently wash and sanitize hands.
  • Avoid crowds.

Additionally:

  • Cover mouth (with elbow) when you cough or sneeze.
  • Make a habit of throwing out used tissues.
  • Avoid touching face especially eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Maintain strict "do not share" rules regarding kids cups and drinks, etc.
