I am learning how very substantial it is that I am grounded in God’s Word and know His truth.
By not being grounded in the Word, we can open up doors for confusion and sheer lack of knowledge. I have been challenged to dig into the Word more, whether I see a reason to or not.
I don’t need to be going through a rough time in order to dig through the Bible for answers. Or be on a specific “quest” to be studying the Bible. I just need to dig into it on a daily basis simply because I need to know the Truth so that it will continue to keep me free – free from the lies of the enemy, free from false teachings and preachings, free from unnecessary bondage, free from confusion – and the list goes on and on and on.
So the simple solution is: make it a priority to read God’s Word, not because we should but because we need to; in order that we might not sin against God, but also that in such controversial times, we will not be deceived.
2 Peter 3:16-18 (New International Version)
He [Paul]writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. 18But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
We need to hear from Him and he guided by HIM. Be encouraged today – keep pressing forward and reading bits here, and chapters there. Even those times we don't feel as if we got anything out of our quiet time, God is putting something into us: His Truth.
