Sometimes, it can be hard to physically be with someone to pray with them. In this day and age, we often live a good distance from our closest family and friends. There are times when though we want to be with them, we can not, and it can be frustrating. I am often encouraged by Matthew 18:20 where Jesus says, "For wherever two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Recently during a time of spiritual struggle, I put the call out to my friends and family to pray for me, to pray with me. I needed their support. But my circumstances are such, that I live a good day or twos' drive from all of my closest friends and family. But I tend to think that Jesus honors this, despite our distances. Whenever we gather in prayer, and pray in his name, even though we don't share the same physical space, we are connected spiritually, through the blood of Christ. The wonderful world of blogging is a prime means by which people can gather in his name and pray for each other. How many blogs are out there, seeking the prayers of strangers for their sick and struggling loved ones? Too many to count, I would imagine. But I know God is not bound by the physical limitations of this world, and our prayers transcend them as well. We can gather in spirit and be heard in the heavens. So I say, gather in spirit with your friends. Pray together, trusting in Christ's word that wherever two or more are gathered, there he is as well!
