Gorgeous Jewelry that Empowers Women

fashion and style Gorgeous Jewelry that Empowers Women

A couple of years ago I received a pair of earrings from NightLight as a birthday gift.  I had never heard of NightLight but soon learned that they are a jewelry company in Bangkok, Thailand – but they are also much, much more.  NightLight's purpose is not just to make and sell beautiful handmade jewelry, but to provide jobs, job training, and education alternatives to women (and their children) who were trafficked in the sex trade.

The beautiful jewelry NightLight sells is handmade by women who are leaving a life of trafficking for a life of independence and hope!  From NightLight's website:

"NightLight’s goal is to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of women in prostitution, their children, and those children brought illegally in Thailand to financially support their families by selling items in the bars and often through sexual exploitation."

I was just meeting with a couple of people in my area who are becoming active in fighting human trafficking. Yes, in our small town of 30,000 trafficking exists. The young woman I met with said a group like this came to her college and really had an impact on her. How delightful to see it featured here!!!

It's not enough to rescue the victims of trafficking – giving them new work – and helping them find new purpose and meaning is critical, too. If my husband is ever going to buy me jewelry, I've asked him to shop here. =)

  2. It is amazing that nightlife is helping women overcome difficulties in life. I checked out their site and the designs are truly beautiful
