Halloween Safety Tips from the US FDA

family Halloween Safety Tips from the US FDAIf your children are anything like mine, they are not only very excited to put on their costumes and go trick-or-treating but they're pretty excited to check out their loot and eat candy galore! The US FDA has put together a list for Halloween food safety including:

  • Don't go trick-or-treat on an empty stomach. Have a light snack or meal first to prevent snacking en route.
  • Tell your kids not to accept – or eat – anything not commercially wrapped.
  • If juice or cider is served at Halloween parties, make sure it's pasteurized to destroy harmful bacteria.
