They're the first thing we stand on in the morning and the last thing to hit the bed at night: our feet.
We walk, run, jog and stand on them throughout the course of the day and most times, we never give it a second thought.
But did you know that most times the feet mirror the body's state of health? Here are some sole facts that every person should know:
- Our feet often act as health indicators. More times than not, the symptoms of certain ailments, initially show up in the feet. If you have feet problems, it could be a sign of something more serious.
- Women are more likely to suffer from foot problems than men.
- 1/4 of all the body's bones can be found in the foot. If the foot's alignment is out of whack, the rest of the body will follow suit.
- Shoes that don't fit right, affect the overall health of your feet. Since one foot is generally bigger than the other, buy your shoes to fit the larger foot.
- Walking helps to increase circulation and contributes to the overall health of the body. So, walk regularly.
Our feet get us from one point to the next. So, let's give them the same care and attention we would give to primary organs like the heart or eyes–they deserve nothing less.
