Healthier Lifestyles That Help You LIVE A LITTLE! pt 1

Mix it upWork. Life. Home. Work. Life. Home. Work. Life. Home.

If this is what your typical day life feels like then "Houston, we have a problem."

No matter how easy or comfortable it feels, living life in a rut could have some dire consequences like: discontentment, depression and an overall lack of interest in people or hobbies. In short, you stop living. And worse? You settle for second best when great is what you really want.

In this 4-part series, I'll share some of my tried and proven lifestyle changes that helped me think, feel and act in a way that brought me the peace, health and joy I really craved.  Now, on with the show…

Mix It Up!

Change is your friend ~ it's easy to get locked into a routine. But think back to the happiest moments of your life. I'm willing to bet they happened spontaneously–with little to no planning. So, mix it up. Instead of waking up my children with a "guys it's wake up time" or some other bland version thereof, I started getting them up with a tickle instead. You'd be surprised how effective tickles are. And I say, the bigger the kid (splendid husbands included) the better the fun! There's laughter (which already take stress off the day) and of course, bonding which is a great way to let those whom you love KNOW they're loved and cared for.

Not too keen on the morning tickles? Well how about morning affirmations or love notes? Nothing says surprise like a little note in a lunch box, brief case or wallet. Heck, you can even drop someone a text message. It's not so much the delivery that matters–it's all about the message.

Mixing it up is all about adding subtle, impromptu changes to invoke a little spice and newness to what sometimes feels like a bland routine. Pick a flower and wear it in your hair all day. Wear that blouse that you thought was too bright for your skin. Make a card or cake for your neighbor, just to say hello–even if you don't particularly care too much for them. The art of mixing it up is all about doing something new and enjoying the after glow.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and mix it up! And let us know all about it.
