Hello Mother, Hello Father-The Bachelorette

entertainment Hello Mother, Hello Father The Bachelorette

Let me take a few steps back, my vacation left me behind.  Jillian went to the home towns of 5 of her final suitors.  First off was Reid's home town of Philly.  Feeling the love from his family and their excitement that Reid was so affectionate, Jillian had a promising first encounter with parents.  His mother did say that he'll be cautious with his feelings, explaining his slower approach to their relationship.  After hearing Jillian continue to say they are so different, I feel that the couple is more of a true match, as opposites attract.

Moving on to the Carmel Valley, CA trip to meet Jesse's family.  Jesse has a cynical brother who seems to rub Jillian the wrong way at first.  I'm not seeing the heat that they shared on the glacier or in that episode's hot tub scene, I'm worried that this visit wasn't what Jill was hoping for.

Jillian heads over to Michael's humble abode to meet his identical twin brother and his parents.  Trying to get a few more 8-year-old antics into the show, Michael tries to trick Jill with the old "switcheroo" as twins might do, but she sees right through his immature ways.  I want to root for the guy so badly, but he is just not her match.

Kiptyn shows Jillian the gorgeous San Diego coastline from his parent's home.  A little more on the edgy side, Kiptyn's mother challenges Jill's words and gives her a little run for her money.  If I were Jillian, I'd be quaking in my knee-high boots, this woman is not a softie.  Later put to a foodie test, Jill passes the family "tests" with flying colors and ends up hot-tubbing with her 6-8-pack abs man.

Two surprises in this episode throw the Bachelorette into a tizzy.  First, Ed comes back!  Ed of "I must leave, my job depends on it, " fame.  He can't stop thinking about her and wants another chance!  Floored, but flattered we'll later see Ed at the Rose Ceremony to the shock of the rest of the men.  Can this guy be trusted!?

Second, Jake returns with some news that is guaranteed to…well…shake Jillian up a bit.  Jake finally comes clean with what all the men, including toe-fetish Tanner P had alluded to, Wes has a girlfriend!  Say it isn't so.  Is the guy just miffed because he was not given a rose?  Jillian asks Jake to come and chat with her and Wes and confront him about it.  Wes denies it, but he's hiding something, it's written all over his face.

Despite Jake's claim, Jillian heads off to meet the family, and Wes introduces Jillian to his band in Texas.  We hear the dreaded song AGAIN!  Sorry, but it's so corny!  She is still disillusioned by his bad boy-meets-country crooner style and squeals like a school-girl (maybe she and Michael are right for each other).  Wes' sisters and mom confirm that Wes is indeed single, giving much more hope for him  in Jillian's eyes.

At the Rose Ceremony, Jillian keeps Kiptyn, Wes, Reid, and Ed around for their fantasy dates to Spain.  Michael's puppy dog eyes and sad tone just breaks my heart and I'm already wondering if he'll be the next Bachelor!

Stay tuned for my next recap…I might title it, Wes is a Bum.
