Homemade Granola Bars

Granola Bars for Hiking (this recipes makes about a half of a cookie pan)

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup granola (I recommended the organic Ginger Snap Granola from Harmon’s)

1/2 cup wheat flour (I recommended King Arthur’s—no yuckies in it, not bleached and milled in the U.S.A.!)

1 organic free range egg

1/3 cup oil

2 tsp cinnamon

1/3 cup honey

Preheat the oven to 325. Line a cookie sheet with foil so the edges hang over.

Mix all of the above ingredients well.

Spread out the mixture on the baking sheet and cook for about 30 minutes or until brown. (At my house I actually only had to cook it for 20, but at my old house it took 30…who knows? Just be careful!)

Let chill for 2 hours, flip over onto cutting board and cut with a sharp knife.

  1. My husband was just talking about cutting out more sugar from his diet, and thinking that granola bars would have to go…we'll definitely give these a try. Thanks!!

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
