I have spent several hours this week designing invitations, folding them and stuffing them into envelopes. There was also stamp-sticking and envelope sealing and somehow I've managed to survive. The occasion? My baby sister is getting married in a few months, and I'm hosting a bridal shower for her next month.
I have never actually hosted a bridal shower (though I've been to more than I care to recall), so this hosting stuff is new territory for me. Finding a location to accommodate my mother's excessive guest list was my first big hurdle and I achieved success there. Picking a date and time that worked for all key players? Oy. That was tough too.
Now that envelopes are ready to pop into the mail tomorrow and I've got my ever growing to-do list and party supplies list, I'm faced with what feels like the biggest challenges yet: What on earth are these party goers going to eat? And shower games? I haven't a CLUE about shower games!
Whether we're eating fancy-schmancy hors d'oevres or chips and dip, I know that we'll have a great time celebrating my sis's upcoming nuptials, but… I still want to throw a good party. Any tips?

Thanks so much for hosting! Glad to see that you are back!
