When my youngest daughter was diagnosed with gluten intolerance 4 years ago, it was only the first step in our family's food adventures. The older girls and I quickly followed her on the path to health, sticking with a gluten free diet for the entire household. I was able to replicate just about everything—pasta, cookies, cakes and even pizza—with gluten free products.
It has become no big deal, really, but what I missed most, was ordering a pizza. Yes, I can (and do) make it at home, but there is just something about a pizzeria. Everyone has their favorite chains. I have a favorite in every town. A local chain in our area and a true Italian pizza in my hometown so while I love homemade pizza night, it just didn't measure up to my old favorites. Each restaurant seems to have its own unique flavor to the sauce. Besides, there's always something to be said for sitting around with your family while someone else cooks.
Earlier this year, I stumbled on a way to have my old favorites sans gluten. After speaking with the managers of several pizzerias, I have found a few who are willing to create their pizza on my crust! I take the gluten free crust I have prepared or purchased and order my favorite toppings. There is, of course, always the risk of cross contamination, but we've had good luck so far. I've enjoyed both of my very favorites in the last month all while respecting the gluten free diet that keeps my family healthy.

To be fair, your pizza crust is pretty good
I'm glad Pizza King obliges your request!
i'd love your gluten free recipe for pizza crust. i need gluten-free, too. thanks!
Thanks, Joanna!
Debbie, I actually just use the Gluten Free Pantry pizza crust mix. We've had pretty good luck with Pamela's mixes too. After trying a lot of mixes, recipes and ready-made crusts, these are the 2 brands we like.
