My husband is an National Guard Active duty Airman (after serving 7 years in the Army), we were one of the few families on base that did not get our first choice as President; but like you said in the end he's still OUR President and as a county needs the support and respect of all of us. My fear is that people have put so much stake in his presidency that when he proves he is in fact just a human there were will some very disappointed people. Anyway, God bless you and yours!
