That delectable dish right there is Lemon Butter Pasta with Steamed Old Bay Shrimp and Broccoli. It's one of those perfect summer dishes because it's light, simple and takes less than 15 minutes to make.
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- Dash of salt and pepper
- 3/4 box of Barilla Linguini, cooked
- 1 lb shrimp
- 1 Old Bay seafood steamer bag with seasoning
- Cook the pasta according to the directions on the box. While the pasta is cooking follow the directions on the steamer bag and cook shrimp in the microwave. (this is so easy, you won’t believe it)
- Cook broccoli (or zucchini or squash or whatever veggie you’d like to add to the pasta)
- Over medium heat on the stove melt the butter and add the lemon zest and juice, salt and pepper and stir frequently until the butter is melted and fully incorporated.
- Drain the pasta, toss with the sauce, top with shrimp and broccoli
Now.. we know that I love seafood, the beach and summer and that I am all about simple food with simple but powerful flavors, and that is why I love Old Bay! Their original seasoning is perfect but, I have to confess.. the Blackened Seasoning is my favorite!
The fabulous people at Old Bay are celebrating their 70th birthday this year and in honor of that milestone.. they've offered me a "Basket of The Bay" to giveaway to one of you wonderful people!

The “Basket of the Bay” includes OLD BAY Seasoning, an OLD BAY Seafood Steamer bag, some great new OLD BAY-inspired recipes for you to try out and additional items perfect for the summer season.
I know that you want to win this. I was all kinds of giddy when my "Basket of The Bay" arrived! The kids fought over the tattoo and the keychain (of course) and I ran right to the store, picked up some shrimp and, well.. the rest is up there for you to see ![]()

I so would love to try Old Bay…I never have but in my old age (just turned 39!) I have discovered that I like to experiement.
Great giveaway.
Thanks for the opportunity to win :>)
Blackened seasoning you say? Hmmm…didn't know they made one. I might need to check that out.
Favorite way to use it? I will often throw some on my roasted potatoes when I serve them with fish or seafood – it seems to tie them together even if there isn't any Old Bay on the seafood because Old Bay is an expected flavor when eating seafood.
I would love to try this pasta! Yum!
I've never used Old Bay myself (I'm trying to be more adventureous in cookie!) but I'd absolutely LOVE to try doing Crab with it. Well, and the shrimp recipe because really what is better than pasta, butter, shrimp, and broccoli!
I've never tried it before but I'd love to try it on some scallops and baked cod. Thanks for the chance.
I always put Old Bay in my tartar sauce.
The Southwestern Shrimp Quesadilla sounds great!
I love using Old Bay on corn on the cob, especially right now while its in season. I also use it for potatoes, steamed crabs, ,steamed shrimp, seafood soups and stews…..just about anything.
I use old bay on french fries. I am from MD and I sadly don't eat crabs, but apparently Old Bay and crabs are a prefect match. However, I love going to Baltimore Orioles games and getting fries and there is a GIANT can of old bay waiting for me. LOVE IT.
I am going to try it on my corn on the cob now thanks Kate!
http://oldbay.com/Recipes/More/Appetizers/Spicy-Layered-Dip.aspx I think this spicy Layered Dip would be amazing to try- I just might try it on sat.
Rachel! You're giving away OLD BAY! Just when I thought I couldn't like you more.
I am a pregnant woman on a seafood mission. seriously, I had shrimp for lunch saturday, fresh fish for dinner that night, calamari for lunch yesterday, and both bonefish and red lobster's ultimate feast are in the cards for this week. Don't talk to me about mercury because I will cover my ears and yell LALALLA. Not interested. Bring on the underwater deliciousness.
And obviously, count me in for this giveaway!
Oh – I didn't say that my favorite way to use Old Bay is the old staple of boiled peel and eat shrimp. Just marinade it before boiling, then cook and peel and YUMMY. Like Kate, we also put it on corn on the cob (and have done so twice this week, we got a bunch of corn at the farmers market last weekend).
and WOW some of the recipes on their site look really good! I am thinking about trying that maryland crab soup.
if I could afford crab.
does the giveaway include crab?
ok, two comments, two entries, say a prayer that I might actually win!!
I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, we practically put Old Bay in our baby bottles (that's a joke)..my favorite is Steamed Hard Crabs w/ tons of old bay to cook, then you add the old bay to vinegar and dip your backfin in there! HEAVEN I tell you, HEAVEN!!
