Did you know that "if every household in the U.S. replaced just one 32oz. of solvent based cleaner with a 32oz bottle of one All-Purpose Cleaner, we could save 9.3 million pounds of VOCs from entering our environment."
Wow! What a big impact one little change can make.

Seventh Generation kindly sent me a kit to try and I shared some of the items with friends to get their opinion.
I gave the Kitchen Cleaner a friend, who had never used a "green" cleaner before, and she loved it! She was amazed at how well it removed grease stains and said that she would definitely buy it again.
Another friend tried the Tub & Tile Cleaner and she was surprised how well something that does not smell could clean her shower. She said that she could instantly see a difference but loved the lack of cleaning smell afterwards!
I use to use Windex to clean my mirrors and windows but not anymore. Seventh Generation 's Glass & Surface Cleaner works just as well but without the smell and toxic chemicals.
Now it's your turn to try these products.
Go to the Seventh Generation website, look around, gather some facts and figures, then come back here and leave a comment telling us something you learned.

I didn't get to the cleaning info, because the article on tampons stopped me in my tracks. I had NO IDEA they were so horrible for me. Seeking alternatives now…
I had no idea you were supposed to dust with a damp cloth so dust particles don't get put back in the air…I've been doing it wrong for so many years!!!
May is Pregnancy Awareness Month- who knew?!!
(Good thing I'm not, though)
It is scary to think of all the toxins we have exposed our families to and how harmful those toxins can be. I wonder if many of us have allergies and asthma as a result of the cleaning products our own parents used when we were children. I just learned that the chlorine in conventional detergents is easily vaporized by hot dishwasher water and then released into your home’s air. I am just thankful that companies like SeventhGeneration are taking such an active role in trying to provide and cleaner and SAFER world for our children.
The simple act of every home in America using just one roll of recycled paper towels would save 1,000,000 trees is mind boggling.
Eucalyptus oil added to your wash water kills dust mites. Interesting! Also, certain plants in the bedroom help regulate the humidity level also helping to decrease dust mites. It can't hurt to have fewer dust mites!!!!

YUCK YUCK YUCK!
I also never knew how a bubble was formed…now Science Man has filled me in! Very interesting site and I look forward to trying out several of their products soon. I love that they have printable coupons on their stie!
You should dust with a damp cloth to ensure that household dust, which can collect toxins, is removed from surfaces and not stirred back into the air.

The tampon stuff totally wigged me out too…yikes!!
I learned that irradiating our foods might be more harmful than good. perhaps it should be used for certain items that are hard to cook or have contamination rates. Regardless, it just another reason to grow your own or buy local!!!!
I did not know you could get coupons from the Seventh Generation website. I'm signing up today!
No idea about the whole chlorine vaporized into the air from my dishwasher thing – thinking that's definitely not healthy!
I had no idea a few drops of Eucalyptus oil in the wash would kill dust mites – I always assumed the wash itself killed them!
I did not realize that aerosol products have droplets that remain suspended in the air for hours and are easily inhaled.
I didn't know that the 100% recycled paper towels are whitened without chemicals containing chlorine.
I love the 10 quick tips for green cleaning. Very insightful!
I became aware of the top worse fruits to eat that store chemicals. Definitely looking for more organic fruit.
Ewww….I had no idea that air freshners fill the air with toxins and chemicals.
these products always catch my attention. many native american tribes have the concept "to the seventh generation", meaning what we do now, affects the future, at least seven generations from now. it's awesome to see this concept on the market. i'd love to try these products.
"Plant oils are less likely to create an allergic response. Additionally, unlike synthetic fragrance, plant and essential oils have a physical and emotional relationship with the body—soothing, energizing, relaxing, stimulating, or balancing." This statement caught my eye. I'm big on fragrance and like the benefits listed for plant oils. Would love to win this giveaway to help me get started on providing a "green" home environment for my family. Thanks!

I didn't know about all those chemicals in air freshener! More like "air poisoner." ick!
Tampon's. Um, eww. Going with the alternative next month.
The diaper debate – I don't feel as badly now that I wasn't a cloth mama.
Finally – the explanation as to why my eyes get so irritated if I walk near the dishwasher while it's working! I need to replace my chlorine-filled dishwasher detergent to chlorine-free. I would have never thought of chlorine as the irritant, although I probably should have. Great site – thanks for the link and the giveaway!
