Snow and Oats, Irish Oatmeal

food Snow and Oats, Irish OatmealI do love snow when I'm home, but not when I'm driving………… The perfect breakfast for a snowy day…..porridge! Steel cut Irish oatmeal from county Kildare, Ireland. The label says, traditionally served with fresh buttermilk, Irish porridge is also good with milk or cream & brown sugar or honey or with butter.
It's different from regular oats, takes lots longer to cook & has a bit of texture to it.

  1. LOVE McCann's!!

  2. I do believe this will be breakfast in the morning. We are expecting a very cold front moving through the area overnight with a chance of snow.

One cold morning while in Canada years ago we went to the hotel dining room to find hot steaming bowls of oatmeal served with little pots of cream, butter and warm maple syrup. It honestly doesn't get better than that!!!

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
