Tonight the Top 14 perform. Thought they made the right picks last week sending Asuka and Jonathan home. Excited to see what the new pairings bring. On with the show….
Janette and Brandon- I am so jazzed to see these two do a cha cha. Cause thus far there has been nothing they can’t do. And they totally NAILED it. It was so fast and flawless. Nigel called it the best cha cha the show had ever seen. Mary put them on the hot tamale train and Mai made nice with Brandon, even going so far as to reduce him to tears with her compliments. What a way to start the show.
Kayla and Kupono: Vampire love story? That should go over well with America’s Twilight obsession. Cool dance and imagery. Kayla’s body is so flexible and her legs are just incredible. I agree with the judges that this is a great partnership. They have both really flourished since they have been partnered with each other.
Randi and Evan: This was the first dance of theirs I didn’t love. But not because of them, because of the choreography. It just kind of bored me. I think the pace was just too slow or something. The judges were a bit mixed. Overall they seemed to like it but I think in general wanted the pair of them to “step it up” a bit. I think maybe I agree.
Caitlin and Jason: Oh Brian. Take note. America does not get your choreography. You are one weird dude. I was really impressed with Caitlyn. She has let me down many weeks, but she was really strong. I was actually surprised the judges didn’t praise her more. But like me, the judges seemed to have a hard time getting past the weird. Mary especially. But Mia and Nigel seemed to appreciate what they did. I am a bit worried for them. When America doesn’t get it, people usually end up in the bottom 3.
Jeanine and Phillip: I actually didn’t like that dance. And I always love Tabitha and Napolean. But I found the chain really annoying. And so distracting I couldn’t pay attention to the dance. Which I think is what Mia was trying to say in her critique. But Nigel and Mary loved it and I do have to agree with them that Jeanine is doing an incredible job of keeping up with Phillip on hip hop. Who cares, America loves them and they are totally top 10 bound.
Melissa and Ade: I am so excited for Melissa that she gets to do this dance. That was absolutely breathtaking. I knew Melissa would be amazing and she was gorgeous, but Ade was amazing too. So powerful and graceful at the same time. I absolutely loved this dance and so did the judges. Flawless.
Karla and Vitolio: Cute quick step. I don’t know a thing about how it was done technically, but it was very entertaining. Karla needs to bust out a little more personality because I don’t think America is really embracing her. The judges really liked this dance and had nothing but praise for the dancers. I still fear they may end up in the bottom two because overall they seem the weakest.
Who do you think is going home?
