I've always admired a clean house. Unfortunately, I have small children so my house is very rarely completely clean and an entire week devoted to 'Spring Cleaning' isn't in my immediate future.
So I was happy to receive a new product developed and created by a Mom just like me who needed to spring clean in short snippets of time throughout the year. Spring Clean, Year Round is a "perpetual to do list for keeping your home sparkling clean all year long in just a few minutes each day."
I love organizational systems! I'm a planner and a list person by nature so having a pretty little tin full of pretty (and DURABLE) cards with the basic as well as the easy to overlook chores organized by day and/or month is perfect. And did I mention it's pretty!
From the weekly 'Clean Toilets' and 'General Dusting' to every other month 'Clean the outside of washer and dryer' to Yearly 'Clean Dryer Duct and Vent,' all the big and small jobs are covered. On each card you'll find the frequency, helpful hints, and the approximate age at which you can teach and get help from your children.
My house isn't sparkling clean yet, but if I follow the cards each day in addition to keeping up with the basics of dishes and laundry I ought to be THERE in about 3 more weeks.

"It seems like since having 2 kids the amount of clutter in our house has exploded. So I like the throw something out every day rule. Some days that means sorting through a pile of junk mail, sometimes it means cleaning out the fridge or a toy box. I find that if I don't keep on top of getting rid of "stuff" it just takes over my little house and then we can't even find the floor to clean it!"
You won! Look for my email.***

I love to clean my home but with a 3 year old and a new baby coming this week, the nesting has been sporadic at best, non-existant at worst. I NEED something like this little beauty!
I'm not so great at keeping things in order around here – maybe this will help! My favorite cleaning tip is making your own laundry stain remover. 1/4 c dish soap (I choose to use non-toxic, earth-friendly products), 1/4 c glycerin, and 1 1/2 c water. Mix gently and pour into a reusable spray bottle (check your Dollar Store, Target, etc.). It works great on stains, especially grease spots!
Best cleaning tip I ever heard was doing the 5 minute clean-up….take 5 minutes to pick up a room each day and then it doesn't get so overwhelming!
With a two year old and a three year old, I find that cleaning is a constant struggle. And when my kids want to help, it sometimes creates more harm than good. My favorite strategy though, give each of them a wet wipe and see who can make it the dirtiest. They love to clean the baseboards around the house because that seems to be the best place to find dirt.
I am not the best at keeping the house clean but I have discovered that if you make sure and pick up everything at the end of the night it makes it a lot easier to keep the house clean.
I pour some all-purpose cleaner into my toilet brush holders, then swish out the toilets each day. That way they're always clean and fresh. I would love to win this giveaway, thanks for the chance!
my favorite tip on cleaning? keep moving. have a routine….
Do a little each day to keep from being overwhelmed. I also follow the one touch rule. Put something back where it belongs instead of having a "middle man."
I try to remember to grab a damp cloth when on the phone to wipe the smudge marks off of doors and trimwork (three cheers for cordless phones!) while talking. I find that it doesn't take any attention away from the conversation, but allows me to get one of the nitty-gritty, constantly needed cleaning tasks out of the way in a relatively painless fashion.
I would love to get this cute system for my household chores! My tip for keeping the kitchen clean is to do the dishes every night. Even when you feel like your going to collapse from an exhausting day, do the dishes after dinner, and then relax. The kitchen will be clean and fresh for the morning!
I use white vinegar to clean all sorts of things around my house. Not only does it do a fantastic job in the laundry but it can also be used to clean the walls and other things. And, the best part is…it's non-toxic.
I have also signed up for your newsletter!
I have a cleaning schedule that I follow. I try to clean for less than 30 minutes every day….things stay neat and I don't have to spend a full day cleaning…ever!
I tried the "clean a little every day" system, but once I had the cleaning supplies out, I always wanted to finish the job. Now I set aside one or two afternoons a week to give the house a thorough clean, and just neaten during the rest of the week. I always find myself forgetting little jobs until they're completely gross–like ceiling fan blades! I'd love to win!
What a great prize. My tip is to keep a basket at the bottom of the stairs, when you need to bring something up stairs, place it in the basket. Then, when you actually do head upstairs you can take a basket full of stuff, rather then going back and forth.
Just found out that sprayway window cleaner is a must- works like magic. Also I never go to bed with dishes in the sink =)
It seems like since having 2 kids the amount of clutter in our house has exploded. So I like the throw something out every day rule. Some days that means sorting through a pile of junk mail, sometimes it means cleaning out the fridge or a toy box. I find that if I don't keep on top of getting rid of "stuff" it just takes over my little house and then we can't even find the floor to clean it!
I use a small vacuum to clean the bathroom floor before actually wiping it with a wet sponge. Makes it easier to clean without all the dust and fuzz.
to be honest, i do my best cleaning about 2 hours before guests arrive. so we try to have company over often! having a time deadline keeps me focused and i work on the things that most need to be taken care of. this seems to work well for us…
i get your newsletter…
Love it!
Best cleaning tip….I don't really have one…other than it's a wonderful way to relieve stress…and you have a clean house to boot!!! Thanks for the give-a-way…I would love to win!!!
I really need something like this to keep me in line! I've never won a giveaway so I think I'm due, lol!
I also joined the newsletter!!
My best tip is to never go to bed with dirty kitchen counters and sink. Clean those and the rest just falls in place.
Oh i so need this system. With two small children my house is never clean, I need a checklist to remind me to do things like in your article ( I can't remember the last time I remembered to wipe down the outside of the washer and dryer, I just don't have time to remember such things on my own) My cleaning tip is to use a washer cloth and wipe down the shower before getting out!
As a mo to 2 little girls, I am finding it difficult to be one step in front of them for messes. I am disorganized at best and would definitely benefit from this!
My one cleaning tip I heard some time ago was to take advantage of the time the girls spend in the bathtub. Instead of thinking of it as wasted time, I now clean the sink, toilet and floor while the girls play and am still able to keep an eye on them. Now, time during their baths is productive and keeps the bathroom looking clean!
Don't leave the room without taking something with you to put away!
I have a daily and weekly chart posted in my kitchen that keeps me on track without making me feel like I am overwhelmed and/or using all of my time each day cleaning. It seems to work….when i follow it
I think this box looks AWESOME and would LOVE to give it a try!!!!
You gotta try this cleaner it makes like so much easier
Goodness knows lately I have felt overwhelmed with housework. I have three children and a very small house, so things can get pretty messy so much faster than I can clean it all up. I have started to divide up weekly duties by each day of the week and that has helped some.
Oh La La…I would love this. My cleaning tip is to lay a sheet on the ground for when my toddlers play with their blocks or Legos . It makes clean up a breeze. I just pick up the sheet and dump the toys back into the box.
Before being involved in a car accident that has left me in severe chronic pain and then suffering in stroke in June of 2008, I was a great example of an organized, with-it mom. SInce then, it seems like I can't get it all together, much less organize it!! To help with this, I have started a household notebook. I have a daily page with my spiritual, personal, and household goal for the day. This page also has an hourly schedule, place for my menu and ingredients needed, place to list things that need to be purchased, and last of all, an empty miscellaneous area.
This notebook with its daily page, plus other sections I have added to help me, has been the best thing I have found to help me be more organized and know more about what I need to do. I don't remember where I got the original idea from, but I changed it to fit my needs. I hope this idea can help you as much as it has me.
Having this set of cards would be the perfect compliment to my notebook. I would know what to do in my house, as far as cleaning goes. I think my stroke took the logical thinking part of my brain that I used to do that with before. This set would help me solve that problem.
I've seen these on other sites and they look great.
Did I miss the giveaway!? I hope I win!!
I would love to win this. I definately need some help in the cleaning department!
