Take Care of Yourself!

Me Time

Being the mother of three often means I put myself on the back burner.  There is always a list of things that need to get accomplished everyday and it isn't unusual for my needs to get left off the list. But, when I do finally stop and admit that I need something for myself, I know that I can always rely on my Top 5 Me Time Treats!

  1. Pedicure! I love enjoying the hum of the salon and the great massage that comes with it.  I always bring a trashy novel or magazine and in 45 minutes I feel like a whole new woman.
  2. Taking a bubble bath!  I lock the door, add some bubbles, bring my book, and relax in the quiet for as long as the water stays warm.
  3. Get lost among the stacks!  Visiting the bookstore and browsing for hours is the perfect escape.  I love to read the covers, sneaking a peak into unknown worlds.  Nobody bothers me and the solitude is nice break from the chaos at home.
  4. Walk!  I love to take a brisk walk through my neighborhood or local nature park.  I find that mornings make for the most peaceful time to energize and clear my head.
  5. Time with Friends!  It can be shopping for a new outfit or enjoying lunch in the midst of a busy day.  The companionship and laughter are more than enough to revive my spirit!

Try making your own list of ways to take care of yourself. So the next time you feel you need to escape, you'll have plenty of things to choose from!
