Ten Ways To Save The Planet Without Losing Your Mind

green living Ten Ways To Save The Planet Without Losing Your Mind

1.    Read your morning paper online. A year’s worth of papers read online will save 520 lbs of paper and around 3 trees a year.
2.    Pack your lunch with reusable containers. Containers and packaging make up around 1/3 of solid waste in landfills.
3.    Write more text messages. Text messages from a cell phone use 30 times less energy than sending e-mails from a desktop computer.
4.    Tighten your gas cap! 147 million gallons of gas evaporate each year in the US from cars with damaged, missing or loose gas caps.
5.    Buy your movie tickets online and print them at home. Printer paper is easier to recycle than paperboard which most movie theaters use.
6.    You can save on average $90 a year just by shutting down your home computer every night.
7.    When replacing electronics look for energy star products.
8.    A damp rag works well for most dusting jobs. Just wet the rag and ring out most of the water and just wipe. Super easy!
9.    Birds love to use our hair and our pet’s hair to make their nuts. Use a bag from net bag from onions or other produces and put your hair in it so the birds can use it.
10.    Scan your documents and send them on your computer in place of using a fax. It eliminates the need for a hard copy.
