The Bachelorette: All Aboard! Except You Robby.

CNS-FASHION-BACHELORETTEWho's ready for a long train ride?  The Bachelorette, Jillian Harris and her suitors travel the rails through beautiful British Columbia and Alberta this episode.  As the show starts, we see Jillian still pining over the loss of Ed, who quit the show last week to save his job.  It could be worse, she could miss Dave, the belligerent trucker.  But alas, we learn that the first solo date is with Robby.

Robby is a bartender, or between jobs as he says.  Well, he also said, "love doesn't have a job" and for me that would be a huge red flag!  Despite telling Jillian he is next in line to get married to overcome the family curse, she cannot help but worry about his age, a young 25.  She loves his carefree-fresh approach to life, but in the end she kicks Robby off the train in the middle of the wilderness rose-less.  Carefree=unambitious I think in this case.

Before the group date, we hear from Wes.  All along, the other men have been discussing the certain country singer who they believe is only on the show to boost his career.  BINGO!  Wes admits he has had a hidden agenda all along, and that he can "taste" fame.  To go a step further, he says, "I have Jillian wrapped around my little finger!"  Cold.  Calculating.  Jerk.  Hurry, someone please tell Jillian this little tidbit of information!

The six guys get off the train and head snowshoeing and for a little game of hide and seek.  Jake finds Jillian and sneaks in a snuggle in the snow.  Later he grabs her for some alone time and tells her she is so much like his mom and before he can tell her his true feelings, the other guys swoop in and cut him off.  Kiptyn and Jill share a natural connection and end up kissing with every meeting.  He tells her "I like you" and she melts.

Then there's Tanner, the foot guy.   Except tonight he's the underwear model.  After Michael asks what Jillian wears to bed typically, Tanner drops his pants to reveal tighty-whities, "this is what Daddy wears!"  Although she can't keep her eyes off of him, she later says, "I'm not ready to see anyone's package!"

Reid, the Chandler look-alike from Friends, is too cute.  They show him alone on the train while the group date is going on, chatting with the staff.  Inquiring if he should wear glasses or not on the date, he's advised not to.  When his solo date arrives, he and Jillian head snowboarding, something he's never done.  Jill is impressed that despite admitting he "sucks" he totally embraced the adventure.  She's had an attraction to him from the beginning although they are truly different, even claiming he's neurotic! He's given a rose at the end of their date.

Jillian still has questions at the rose ceremony and takes Michael aside.  Another younger man, Michael tells her he is ready for whatever happens.  Even though "awesome" will get old in another episode, Jill keeps Michael (and Kiptyn, Wes, Reid, and Jesse) and will meet his family.  Jake and Tanner are let go at the end of the night, and a dejected Jake asking "why?"   In the previews for the rest of the season, we see that Jake comes back and will face-off with Jill and Wes to reveal his hidden agenda.  Also, will Ed come back?  What do you think?

  1. Oh man the previews last night had me wondering what the heck is going to happen.

  2. Could you beleive she let that guy just get off in the snow.!?

I was just hoping that one of those guys that she voted off would tell her about that awful Wes, but it appears the air traffic controler guy is going to come back and rat him out! I hope so!

Maybe she's really on to Wes and is just keeping him to make it easy to pick Kyptyn in the end? The same goes for the young, funny guy; he's just there to make it easier later. I liked Jake (what a hottie), but I didn't buy his expression of emotion for her; it seemed forced to me, so I'm glad he's gone, but I sure hope to see him again.

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
