My two oldest girls, Mittens (4.5) and Pumpkin (3), are best friends. They are best fighters, too! It is amazing to watch them fight, get in trouble, and then team up against my husband and me. They forget their anger with one another and begin defending each other.
Their bond is so strong that it seems one cannot do something without the other. If one decides she wants to play with Polly Pockets, the other inserts herself into the play. The girls dance, sing, and make up stories together. There are times it seems they live in their own little world.
A few weeks after moving all three girls into the same room, Mittens decided she no longer wanted to sleep alone, and invited Pumpkin to sleep in her bed. Now they sleep together, and the two girls are quite content to giggle and play after they are put to bed.
They learn from each other. Pumpkin learned to use the potty by watching her big sister. She is also learning to write because Mittens is teaching her. In return, Pumpkin helped Mittens overcome her fear of the swimming pool.
If the girls are apart (even for a few hours), the moment they see each other again, they are hugging.
It is not easy raising three girls under the age of 5, but they are a true blessing, and I would not change a thing. More than anything, the bond my girls have forged makes me happiest of all. It is a true joy to watch them love each other.
Now, the girls are just itching to teach their baby sister everything they know. And I cannot wait to watch them.

You know…I'm jealous of what your girls have…as well as my girls. Lilli & Corinne will sleep together too! My sisters and I NEVER got along…in fact, we don't speak to this day…my mom almost fed off of us fighting and my sisters would team up with her against me. I'm not having a pity party here…that's how it really was…
SO – each time my girls fight, I encourage them to forgive quickly.
