I buy large Tupperware-type storage containers, drill holes in the bottom, fill with rocks and potting soil and plant my veggies there. I normally stick to root veggies for those. I use balcony containers for my herbs.

I also use the Tupperware-type container for my worm bin to create fertilizer.

It costs a lot less than standard large pots and you get more room.

I've been doing a lot of planter box and hanging plant gardening lately and it's alot of fun. Not only does it eliminate many of the normal pests from getting to your veggies, it also prevents you from bending over all the time. Those are two big pluses for me.

Hi, I have recently been trying to follow in my grandfathers footsteps, and tried container gardening. Its actually woking out pretty well, I have a homemade well, wheel barrow and windmill full of plants which are flowering nicely. I cant believe it is acually working for me. didnt think i could do it but it just goes to show if you put your mind to soemthing you can do anything.
