I love to take photos of food. There's something sensual about it to me. Here are some tips for what I consider appetizing photography!
- Get in close so that the textures of the food are really apparent.
- Make sure you have some superb natural light or use a flash as fill.
- If you can focus on certain points, find the most interesting point and do so to create some wonderful bokeh effect; a shallow depth of field or low aperture is required to do this.
- Make sure that background items do not distract from the scrumptious subject.
- Try making diptychs, triptychs, or mosaics to show various angles or food processes.
- Macro shots are awesome for food shots, especially fruits and nuts.
