There's no time like Halloween time!
Costumes, candy, face-painting, decorations, fun food, and did I mention CANDY!?! I know that it's one of our family's favorite time of year. And there's nothing I love more than pulling out my camera and shooting a zillion pictures of my children and their friends in their creative and fun costumes. If ever there was a night to go nuts with the camera, Halloween is definitely the time.

My first tip would be to let your kid get into his character a little early so that you have plenty of time to capture him. He's feeling very ghoulish in his face paint, and his inner zombie has taken over. Roll with it. Let him embrace his goblin-like character. You know, kinda like he does when he's annoying his siblings in the living room.

Don't pose your Mummy (or Train Engineer or Morticia or Ceiling Fan) and just let him be. Shoot a lot to weed out all the bad shots. Shooting a lot also means that you have a greater chance in getting that one special shot (like the one I got of Mummy Benny.)

Let the kids call the shots and simply document the fun they are having. Let them be as silly as silly can be. Let their creative side shine through. Let them show you who they are trying to be this Halloween eve. Let them have fun. Let them work off the sugar high from all that candy they consume after Trick-or-Treating is all said and done.
Most of all, though, HAVE FUN and BE SAFE!

That last shot with Mummy Benny is perfect! Very mummy-fied!
Dress up in gruesome costumes and scare everyone off lol. It's a wonderful time for the kids, so let's all let loose and have fun celebrating the inner child in us!
Halloween is one of those times when you're just out to have fun
