Congratulations! I think it’s great that you are going to stay home with the baby. I know I valued having my mom home with me. You can see more about me in the “about me” section of my personal blog, but I work for my dad in the print sales business. It’s been a blessing for me and I love working from home.

Oh how I would love to work at home!I’m expecting,thank the Lord.My husband and I both agree that it’s for more important for me to be at home with the baby. And do without less “stuff”. What do you do? If you don’t mind me asking?Career-wise?

I guess no matter what road you take it’s tough. I personally think working from home is a great fit for me (although I complain sometimes) I can’t imagine it any other way.

I would love just to deal with messy beds and dishes and stuff. Throwing in my other work is great, but I’d be happy to give it all up tomorrow..lol Although my husband takes advantage of the fact that I work from home, I know that he is happy about it and likes the fact that when we have kids I’ll be home with them.

I can so relate to you. I’m a newlywed and don’t have children and have been working from home since the past half a year or so. Still, sometimes even my husband think that I have less activity (?) and seems that he wants me to go back to ‘real’ work as I did as a single woman. And still, sometimes it’s so boring to deal with messy bed and dirty dishes and dirty laundry every. single. day.

All I can do is to sort of renew my commitment each and single day to keep myself on fire.

I totally understand the positives & negatives of working ‘from home’. I was the part-time secretary at a small Christian camp & retreat center, where my husband works full-time, and we live on the property. I worked there from the time I was pregnant with my son until just the end of August, he was 20 months old, and I finally was able to quit and stay home full-time. I loved being able to bring my son to work with me, and to do a lot of my work from home, but I was always torn – I wasn’t able to watch him very well while I was getting work done, and I wasn’t able to fully concentrate on my work while watching him. So I salute those who work from home all the time, it can be much harder than working outside the home (although I recognize that can be tough, too).
