Many topics I read (and write about) in blogs focus on how to do things better – Save Time, Save Money, Increase Productivity, Be A Better Parent! It's one of the reasons I read blogs. I love to find new and better ways to do things or hear the experiences other people have. I've learned so much just by reading what other people have to say.
Sometimes though, I can get so caught up with trying to do things better that I don't credit myself for the things I'm already doing well. I quickly short-change myself thinking, I could never be like that. My home will never be decorated that nicely. My meals will never be perfectly healthy. My wardrobe is SO far from being adorably current. Sigh … that mindset gets depressing, which brings me to my question:
What do you rock at? What's the thing that makes you say, "Yeah, that's right. I did that" with a tiny smirk on your face?
I know that my kitchen floor needs to be mopped and I have dust so thick on my ceiling fans that it's beginning to look like an embellishment, but ya know what? I make all of our family's bread by hand and have for a year and a half now. I rock at it.
Keeping my focus on reality, rather than the perfection I'm striving for helps ground me and better align my perspective. I just need to give myself some credit now and then. Wow am I busy. I feel like I can barely keep up but I'm doing a few things alright, actually, I rock at them.
What about you? Give yourself some credit. What do you rock at?

At 2 my kids know their ABC and can identify them, we're now working on phonics. They can also count to 20. One is potty trained and another is getting there. Being able to see my kids develop and advance makes me a very proud parent.
oops, my name is Duncan not Dunca (hehe)
