What I've Learned Since Having Triplets

parenting What Ive Learned Since Having Triplets

Two years ago I gave birth to 3 baby girls just minutes apart.  At the time I had no clue what life with triplets would be like.  I had read books and heard other birth stories but just like there's no real preparation for being a mom other then just becoming one there's no real preparation for having three babies at once.

Since that time I have learned a few things:

1. Walls look better with crayon.

2. A clean house is over-rated.

3. Quiet isn't always a good thing.

4. Pajamas can be worn for a good three days – who needs to get dressed?

5. I don't need a gym membership – lugging toddlers is workout enough!

6. I have never once taught them how to fight but every day I must teach them how to share.

7. God should allow every multiples mom to grow an extra arm for each additional baby – I know I could certainly use it!

8.  I feel like a celebrity every time I leave the house and get stopped everywhere I go for questions and even photo ops – now I have no reason to pursue an acting career - I'm famous enough!

9. My lap may not be big enough to hold them but my heart sure is!

10. Yes, my hands are full but I wouldn't have it any other way.

11. There is nothing in the world as enjoyable as watching my girls playing together as sisters and friends – I wouldn't trade that for the world.

  1. Oh just lovely! This made me smile and nod and I only have twins

  2. I agree with you completely on every single point! No one could of prepared me for the journey that I've had the last 3 years raising my trio. Last night I was thinking this: "The first year I felt "Awe struck", the second year I felt "Overwhelmed" and this third year I have felt "Exhausted"…. No one could of prepared me for the emotional, mental, physical or spiritual journey that these 3 have sent me in just 3 short years. LOL Nevertheless I feel honored, blessed, rewarded and unworthy of these 3 miracles. Know what I mean?
