When movie theater owners said "show me the money", this past year their golden ticket was acting sensation, Will Smith.  With two major hits, it is not surprising that Smith was named the actor who generated the most box office revenues for 2008. The honor awarded him by Quigley Publishing Comany's annual survey,  reflects the earnings of his summer hit, "Hancock"  which grossed $228 million, and his current feature, "Seven Pounds" which has taken in $39 million to date.

Smith is only the second African American actor to top this survey as he joins Sydney Poitier who won the honor in 1968. The Quigley poll asks movie exhibitors to vote on their choice for best box office draws.  Last year the top spot went to Johnny Depp.

Joining Smith in the top 10 in order, are Robert Downey Jr., Christian Bale, Shia LaBeouf,  Harrison Ford,  Adam Sandler, Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Daniel Craig.
