About

Welcome to Blissfully Domestic. The online magazine devoted to real life.

We are 100% written and managed by real women; women who write as we bounce babies on our knees, women who spend lots of time in the carpool line, women who need coffee and women who are tired of traditional magazines written by 23 year olds fresh out of college.

We are a perfect example of the strength of women coming together to share our knowledge, speak our minds and support each other. The 300+ Blissfully Domestic Divas, our writers, love sharing their knowledge and expertise with our readers. We all work together to build the magazine that reflects YOU, the reader, your interests, your life, and your bliss.

Blissfully Domestic is designed around a wonderful main page that works as a portal to all 21 of the individual channels. Each channel has an RSS feed. This way our readers can subscribe to each individual topic to customize her subscriptions to her interests.

We all love reviewing new products and hosting giveaways for our readers. If you want your products to be shown to hundreds of thousands of readers. We have 21 individual channels. We do accept private advertising on each site that is top quality and will benefit our readers. All product and advertising inquiries should be sent to Katie

If you are interested in joining the Blissfully Domestic family and becoming a writer, please send your URL, areas of interest, and small writing sample HERE. We are honored to provide you with a platform to show off your work and drive traffic and new readers back to your home site. We believe in the amazing power and strength in our voices as women. Blissfully Domestic strives to encourage, connect, empower and bless all the writers and readers together.

Thank you for being part of this amazing project.

Blessings, Allison

Holly – Editor, Special Needs Bliss

creative bliss About

After earning a degree in Journalism, Holly worked at an ad agency and then freelanced for a few years before putting it all on hold to be a full-time, at-home parent.

As editor of Special Needs Bliss and writer for Family Bliss, Holly now spends her time entrenched in and writing about what she knows best – juggling all kinds of issues and keeping her family (mostly) on track and out of the ditch.

She leans heavily on her faith to guide her through her days bringing up three boys, ages 18, 10, and 5 – one with a mood disorder and another with autism. One of her highest goals – besides keeping the laundry from overflowing into the street – is raising spiritually strong young men who will one day make three women very blessed to have them.

Holly lives in suburban Indianapolis, with her husband, three boys, and one very fussy little white dog. She can also be found writing about her faith, love, and daily pursuit of sanity at My (Un)Controlled Chaos and for her church’s women’s ministry at In The Thick Of It.

Sarah – Editor, Blissfully Blended

Sarah

Sarah is a work at home mom with a preschooler, a first grader and a newly-teenaged stepson. She's been married over 8 years to her Hubby, a guy she dated for two minutes in high school and found again a few years later. Sarah loves writing, reading, and fitness, and has somewhat of an addiction to Starbucks. She blogs at The Mom Chronicles and has recently started The 101 List , a to-do list of sorts of 101 items to accomplish in 1,001 days.

Malia Carden – Editor, Wedded Bliss

creative bliss About

Once upon a time, Malia asked someone, "What's a blog?" and since that fateful day, her life has never been the same. In blogging, not only did she find a way to share the wacky thoughts that permeate her brain on a daily basis, but she also gained a whole new group of friends, near and far, that she otherwise never would have known. Malia and her husband, DB, co-author their blog, "live.laugh.love."

Malia holds a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech and plans to work on a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy once the children learn that her shirt is not a tissue. She's hopelessly addicted to coffee, chocolate, The Internet and recycling.

As the editor for Wedded Bliss, Malia has been blessed by hearing from women who have found this site helpful for improving their marriages. Her hope is that you will always come away from here feeling uplifted, encouraged, and better equipped to be an Extraordinary Wife!

Lotus – Editor, Photo Bliss

creative bliss About

Lotus Carroll is an emotionally volatile dork with a heart of gold.

After being in school for far too long, she earned a BA and an MA in Psychology. She thought she would use her degrees, and affinity for understanding people, to earn money. Instead, she is using them to try to remain sane as the mother of a very spirited and demanding toddler son and the wife of a road-touring, guitar-playing husband who is gone for long stretches at a time.

To stay sane, she visits her passions: writing, photography, nature, gardening, and food. She likes to laugh, but understands the value of a good cry. She talks to the people inside her computer. A lot.

Alison – Editor, Homeschool Bliss

creative bliss About

Ali Hooper is a midwestern girl livin' in the 'burbs with her boys: a precious baby boy, an ornery yellow lab, and her small-town values hubby (without him, she'd surely be off her rocker). Once a School Counselor, she now whittles away her time blogging family, motherhood, and green living at Blessed Treehouse. Oh, and she prays A LOT, because without the big man upstairs, she'd still be in bed.

Sylvia – Editor, Creative Bliss

creative bliss About
Sylvia is a small town girl born and raised in Campbell, Ohio. After an exceptionally frigid winter she flew south and got married. She now resides on a small farm in Florida with her wonderful husband and their two adventurous little boys. She works as a freelance & children's writer and is currently awaiting the publication of her first picture book. She is also a columnist for The Handmaiden, an Orthodox Christian Women's journal and occasionally appears on Ancient Faith Radio. She is thrilled to be the new editor for Blissfully Domestic's Creative Bliss channel and is a frequent contributor at Divine Caroline.

She's an old fashion kinda gal, which sometimes leaves her looking A Tad Bit Prudish… She considers her faith and family to be her two most valuable possessions. When she's not changing diapers, building forts or chasing cheerios she can be found indulging in all things domestic.

Marie LeBaron – Editor, Blissful Kids

creative bliss About

Marie LeBaron is a 30 something stay at home mom in Utah. Before life as a mother, she graduated with a teaching degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education, after which she taught four years of Kindergarten. After her first child was born, she decided to read books and sing silly songs at home. She misses the classroom, but she now gets to bring the fun and learning into her home and ours. You can follow more of her projects at her personal blog Make and Takes. You can also see Marie's crafts at Alpha Mom's Once Upon a Holiday and 5 Minutes for Books.

Rachel – Editor, Blissfully Delish

creative bliss About

Rachel, the editor of Blissfully Delish, is a 30 year old SAHM mom of two, a toddler and a preschooler who only don their halos when their dad comes home, or when they want something. She's been married for nearly 8 years to her very own Prince Charming, where they live in the wilds of South Texas. When she's not slaying dragons with her trusty Dyson or weaving dream spells with stuffed animals she's usually nose deep in a recipe book, or standing over a hot stove creating tonguegasmic delights for her family and friends.

Rachel's secret ingredients for life and cooking are equal parts, Faith, Love, Hope and Laughter.

You can find Rachel blogging about trying to raise two kids with morals, manners and Faith, photography, marriage, food and all the insanity that happens in between at From The Land of Monkeys and Princesses.

Christine – Editor, Healthy Bliss

Almost exactly one month to the day after Christine graduated from medical school, her son was born. She delayed her internship for six months to be at home with him, and as those quick months were drawing to a close, she requested six more. When the time came for her to enter back into the world of medicine, she simply walked away. Christine's son is now ten years old, and aside from the occasional weekend photo gig (or home staging, my new entrepreneurial tangent), she's been a stay-at-home (sketchy homemaker) mom ever since.

Tammy – Editor, Military Bliss

Tammy

Tammy Munson will proudly admit she will never be the perfect military wife. It’s not in her blood and she thinks how boring it would be to be perfect all the time. Her life cannot be equaled to a Lifetime television show! She don’t have the cleanest house on the post, but she tries her best. Her family is fed, happy and healthy. What more can you ask for right?

So who is Tammy? She is a Conservative, Army wife, has been married to her husband for 10 years, mama (to 2 kids and 2 dogs), blogger, writer, social media lover and technology geek.

Tammy has been a full time work at home mom since pregnant with her oldest child in 1998. She mostly worked as website designer, graphic designer, and social media consultant but her true passion is the military life and supporting the “whole” military family. (servicemember, kids, spouse, etc)

Tammy is always involved in some project for the work at home mom or the military spouse. She has been organizing twice-per-year virtual expos for the work at home community since 2006. Additionally, you can find her blogging about her military life at Army Household6 as well as several other military spouse-focused blogs as a contributing blogger. Her most current project, launching in March, is creating a site to help military spouses thrive and keep their own identity while living the military life.

Additionally, she serves as the Colorado Installation Ambassador for Military.com, Technical Coordinator for ParentsZone.org, founder and coordinator for HelpAServiceMemberOut.org and Military Bliss Editor for BlissfullyDomestic

When not working on an online project, Tammy can be found working out on her Wii Fit, mountain biking around Colorado Springs, volunteering at the kids’ school or working with her husband’s unit at Fort Carson.

Jenny Rapson – Editor, Blissful Style

She's been married to her high school sweetheart for nine years and lives in the same area she grew up in. She's passionate about Jesus, coupons, makeup, and her family and has a *wee* vanity problem. She blogs about her adventures in motherhood with her best friend and cousin, Emily, at their blog, Mommin' It Up!

Linda – Editor, Blissful Buzz

creative bliss About

Linda is the SAHM of 3 teens whose passion turned to blogging with the birth of Short Pump Preppy and Short Pump Preppy Reviews. She enjoys time socializing with friends, visiting her daughter in college, and hanging out at horse shows with her biggest baby, a horse named Frosty. She is also featured at RichmondChic and is active with the Christian organization YoungLife.org.

Monica – Editor, Multiple Bliss

creative bliss About

Monica is a stay-at-home mom to preschooler triplets and wife to daddy extraordinaire. In between home schooling, maintaining a private voice/piano studio, beginning and failing at new diets and trying to make their home as frugally fabulous as possible, she writes about life, love and laughter with her miracle trio on Peapod Squad Stuff. She loves Jesus, coffee, the internet, chocolate, writing, hair products and most of all…being “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!”

    Hello Allison,

I found blissfully domestic just recently and fell inlove with it right away. I just started blogging recently because I wanted to start writing again after leaving writing behind for nearly two years. I currently have two blogs both of which can be seen on Blogher.com. The First is called Living In Durham http://livingindurham.wordpress.com and the other Booster Shots for living http://boostershotsforliving.blogspot.com and my own business Frostines Edibles a gourmet online Nut Free cookie company that ships to the U.S.A & all across Canada. http://www.frostinesedibles.com

I would love to work as a editor in either your family or food channel. I notice you have the financial section would it be okay to offer busines information in that section pertaining to starting a business, opening a retail store, getting a loan, getting customers and so on? Those three areas are my strengths so have a look at my blog and let me know if you would have me over, thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you shortly.

    Kind Regards,
    Alice

Hi there. I'm new to BlogDom but 30 years in the writing industry. Acually, not even launched yet. I was signed up for Blogher, anxiously anticipating a lot of info for a newbie. I'm a single mother and this free conference on a non-school day is going to cost me $120 in childcare. Am I going to learn some 101 or is this a fun reunion for the blissful veterans out there? Do not mean to sound sarcastic here. Just a little nervous, so-to-speak, and not knowing what to expect here. I've searched for answers on the site and haven't tapped into any so far. Please help. Thanks,

    Hi,
I absolutely love Blissfully Domestic. I found your site a couple of months ago and can't get enough! I love the concept.
I am a former English teacher turned stay at home mom. I have an idea for a humor column that I would like to write for the Family Bliss section. It would center on humorous things that happen in my family.
Here's an example of a post from my blog that sort of has the tone I would be going for in the column. Of course, the column would be more polished. Look at the first part ("Helpful Hubby"): http://adventuresofamillenniummom.blogspot.com/2008/10/helpful-hubby-date-with-rat-and-fab.html
    Thank you for your consideration.

  16. Beth Montgomery

    Hi there,

I'm interested in writing for this site. I have no experience, other than my blog and I'm bad at punctuation BUT I'm working on it! I enjoy and I'm interested in writing about the daily life of being a stay-at-home mom with 2 little kids and a baby. Learning to take care of the home and balance the whole schabang. Thanks for considering.

    Some samples of my writing,

  17. Sheila Flanagan

I am a homeschool mom in my 10th year and DH and I have run a gutter/siding business from home for 20 years. Due to the economy and subsequent drop in business, I have to start making money from home so I can still fulfill my calling to homeschool my kids.

I recently started writing website content as writing is my thing! It doesn't pay much, but doing several articles a day is the same pay as working at walmart, etc. It's just they don't have enough articles for me to make a consistent income.

Then, today, while planning my next unit study for home (as well as the co-op classes I teach on Mondays) I ran across your site and was wondering if you need additional writers. Since homeschooling is our lifestyle, what better place to get to write articles I enjoy than for a homeschool site? (It beats "how to paint mackerel stripes on a fishing lure!" lol).

Other areas of interest are music (keyboard and violin) and composition, sewing, reading (I usually have 2-3 going at a time and need a trip to the library weekly), cooking and meal planning, organizational techniques, and, of course, family life. I also enjoy writing television/movie/book reviews.

Since I just started writing web content, I can only email you the 2 test articles, "A" grades on both, as I do not know where they go after I write them.

This has opened up a whole new realm of how I can make money at home doing something I love (like homeschooling). Thanks for the wonderful site and I look forward to becoming part of the team!

    Sheila
