So, you want more bliss in your life? Me too. Here are this week’s challenges.
Step 1 – Choose a challenge to complete this week from the list below that fits in with where you want to create more joy in your life.
Step 2 – Leave a comment to tell us which challenge you’ve chosen.
Step 3 – Complete the challenge. Write about it on your blog, twitter stream, or post it to Facebook. Where ever you post it, make sure it is somewhere you will be held accountable to your choice. I’ll be writing here.
Step 4 - Come back and link up your post so we can all cheer your accomplishment!
Organization & Decluttering
This is the number 1 area our readers want to improve in this year. I definitely want to create some bliss in my home in this area. Here are the Organizational challenges for the week:
- Clean your sink (a la Fly Lady). Lay a clean dishtowel out every night this week and make sure that sink is empty before you go to bed.
- Choose one room of your home and DECLUTTER. Get a box for things you’ll keep and find homes for, a box for things you’ll donate, and a trash bag for things you’ll trash.
Fitness and Exercise
This was number 2 in our survey of where YOU want to improve. Here is your challenge*:
- Drink a full glass of water before every meal.
- Increase your physical activity by 30 minutes each day.
- Buy & take a multi-vitamin every day.
* I am not a diet or fitness expert. Please consult your physician before beginning any new diet or exercise programs.
Your Faith Walk
This is the 3rd most popular response to the question ‘Where do you want to find Bliss?’ The best way to deepen your relationship with God is to spend time with Him. Here’s your challenge:
- Choose a Daily Bible Reading program and spend your first moments in the morning reading God’s word. Here’s the one I’ve chosen this year – Prof. Grant Horner’s Bible Reading System
- Choose one of the following spiritual disciplines* to research and practice this week:
- Examen
- Centering Prayer
- Praying Scripture
* This is a great resource for exploring Spiritual Disciplines – Spiritual Disciplines Handbook: Practices That Transform Us
Bonus Challenges
- Donate something of value (Your time, your money, your voice, your blood). Make a tiny difference in your life this week. The ripple into someone else’s life will bless you.
- Do something brave. Tell someone you love them, tell someone you’re sorry, tell someone the truth.
- Fill your cup. Spend some time this week doing an activity you love. Take the time to take care of yourself so you are full to care for others.

Will definitely be doing this I’m going to research one of these spiritual disciplines. Thanks Katie.
Me and my body are going to DRINK MORE WATER. Seriously, I don’t drink nearly enough water. My hydrated organs will be so happy!
I’m definitely going to declutter the hallway closet. It’s long over due.
I have chosen a Daily Bible Reading plan, the one I mention above. I am also going to drink more water and increase my daily exercise activity via the Wii Fit Plus.
They are all good….but I have also chosen, like SarahB, to DRINK MORE WATER…..
Hey SarahB, let me know how it goes. We can keep each other accountable, eh?
1) I’m going to set a timer and declutter for 20 mins a day.
2) I’m going to drink a full glass of water before every meal.
3) I’m going to keep up with my current bible reading plan (a one-year bible with commentary by F. LaGard Smith ISBN: 0-7369-0198-1…it’s put together in chronological order so it reads like a novel).
4) I’ll be donating my time and talent with baking. It was already scheduled.
)
Hi Judith,
I used the One Year Bible last year. It was so unique to read in chronological order. That’s a great one.
Blessings!

Pingback: I’ll accept the Blissful Challenge… | HallofFameMoms
I love this post! It really hits home. I picking 3 challenges and I just did a post on it tonight and added it to Mr. Linky above. You’ll have to read it to know
Thanks for the challenge!
I will be working on decluttering the toy room. It’s a mess.
I am doing a little bit from each challenge however the fitness challenge is my main goal this week.
I already drink the water… and lots of it because it’s all I drink. BUT I do tend to slack off when it comes to my multi-vitamin (and since I breastfeed… this is an important challenge for me).
I’m going to accept the challenge of :: Increase your physical activity by 30 minutes each day.
I discovered as of today that I put on about 8 lbs over the holidays. Ironically, I’d already decided I needed to start an official diet today. So here to so! 30 minutes more activity a day!
I’ve completed the challenge on organization- except instead of a kitchen drawer I went for the whole kitchen
I wanted to add value to my home without blowing cash, so we decided to do a DIY kitchen renovation project, and only spent $1,500! God is so faithful when we are faithful with our resources!
I’m tackling my kitchen this week for the Decluttering and Organizing. Oh how it needs it! GREAT challenges here!
I will take your challenge…already decided to do a reading plan…the bible in 90 days, only 3 days behind, but am reading everyday!!
Next I really need to attack my daughter’s room…started it twice, I got scared and quit…will start again tomorrow!!
And am trying to eat at least one clean meal a day…and drink more water or tea without sugar!!
I will definitely take this challenge. Mine will be to add physical exercise for 30 minutes a day to my routine. I’ve done well so far this week, so let’s hope the weekend doesn’t derail me!

Katie(My sister’s name too!),
I chose the drink more water challenge. I receive water service and I still don’t drink enough of it!
I have my update from week 1 linked here. I hope you stop by. I’m looking forward to picking out another challenge from week 2 now!
http://www.halloffamemoms.com/2010/01/my-blissfully-domestic-challenge-update/
I am excited about the challenges. It took me a while to select mine and begin; procrastination and time management are two of my biggest vices. Like many other readers, I am going to attempt a little from each category as they are already at the top of my initial list of “thinngs to do in 2010 to enrich my life.”
1. Group one- I plan to attack one of the large walk in closets over the weekend while my kids are out of town. I also plan to follow the advice from the de-clutter book linked here. I am going to set a timer and devote 15 minutes to one room each night before bed and 5 minutes to the major rooms each morning before I leave for work.
2. Group 2. I need to drink more water, I have gotten into a very bad habit of not drinking ANY water. I intend to add water, but because adding 30 minutes of exercise will be the most challenging for me; I intend to work on this as my number one goal.
3. Group 3. I don’t know yet exactly how I intend to incorporate more faith based activities into my life, but I will. I recently converted to a new faith so I will need to start at the beginning. I will include my exact plan in my blog & will post my update here next week.
I hope to accomplish all of the bonus challenges, starting with donating blood at the neo-natal intensive care unit. I have a rare blood type adn they are always in need of my RH negative factor blood.
I am BLISSFULLY excited. I spoke of your challenge in my earlier blog as one of the tools I used in creating a plan for a happier life in 2010.
I’m going to declutter the master bedroom {I’m a week behind, so I’m picking a quicker one … and this REALLY needs to get done}.
