Right now I have a mountain of dirty laundry in my basement. Between my three kids, I’m constantly doing their laundry that I end up neglecting my own. So there it all sits in a massive heap on my basement floor. There are probably shirts buried underneath there that I haven’t seen in weeks. Ick. I’m not so blissfully domestic this Monday evening.
If you head on over to Red Clay Diaries, you’ll read that Steph has a pile of laundry that’s large enough she hid underneath it during a game of hide and seek with her daughter. You couldn’t pay me to hide underneath my mountain of laundry.
I know you’re all so much more blissfully domestic than I, so I’m looking forward to reading your posts this week. Anyone have easy tips for organizing and storing clothes? If you’re new this week, welcome to our little party! Please follow the guidelines listed below, including adding your topic in parentheses next to your name. I’ll be stopping by looking for a post to highlight for next week.

I am with you, for no amount of money would I get under my laundry, I have boys! I have finally gotten my laundry under control… for now.

Hey all – I linked to a post about my kiddo’s fish, but I have also posted a blog this evening about my friend’s nephew who could use some positive thoughts his way if y’all are so inclined to include this baby in your thoughts:

I haven’t done a post about storing clothes, but what I do in my house is to buy big tubs, fill them w/ only shirts, only dresses, or only jeans (unless there’s more room). Then, I label them w/ my Brother Label Maker (love it!), and stack them on a shelf in the garage.
Laundry is never-ending, isn’t it? I had my sons fold their own laundry beginning in Kindergarten — they did it as they were watching TV, and it worked like a charm. When they were in grade school, they carted their own laundry baskets to the laundry room and sorted their dirty clothes into appropriate piles. By the time they were teenagers, they knew how to do their own laundry from start to finish. I used to get the occasional question about the temperature of the water and whether or not to use bleach. It’s fun to be a laundry-consulting mom.

Just when I think I have my laundry under control, my children smother me with what they’ve been hiding when I haven’t been looking. I swear there are holes in their rooms I don’t know about, where they can hide their things to attack me at once.
It’s ironic you asked about organizing children’s clothing, as that’s just what I did today.
Kim, you are not alone. My laundry is in a massive pile on my basement floor too-I’ve just been too embarrassed to tell everyone I’m not a Domestic Goddess this week! After I’m done blogging, I must get laundry done!
I learned a tip from flylady that helps keep my laundry under control most days: A load a day keeps the CHAOS away (CHAOS spells: Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome). Try it! It works real well.
I can keep the laundry clean…..it’s just that it then piles up waiting to be folded and put away. Baskets and baskets of it. Ack.

My problem is getting the clothes out before the wrinkles become permanent, which just creates more work! I really like the comment about CHAOS…funny!!
This is my first time to your site and I LOVE your buttons! It was so fun to be able to pick out our own — It made me feel like I was in grade school again, picking my own centers! Ha! Thanks for hosting…
