My Thoughts

• I hate that guy playing Quinn’s dad. He’s always a creepy jerk. Tonight’s episode was no exception.
• Poor Finn. That guy just cannot sing. He got me all teared up with his sonogram serenade, but why he is in Glee again?
• And when he told his mom? Oh my. Let the gushing begin.
• Quinn and Finn were pitch perfect (yes, cheesy pun intended) when they listened to Lean on Me. The twitches in their faces when they were moved, their stunned smiles and finally their relieved and happy-to-have-friends laughter was all so well done.
• Will’s crazy faces during Endless Love could not have possibly been a turn on. That is all.
• Also, his overly expressive and dramatic gestures and expressions during his mash-up? A bit much.
• Playing Extreme’s More Than Words on Suzy Peppers headphones after Will broke her heart was brilliant.
• Did you notice that Quinn’s dad turned off Finn’s music right after he sang the word “seed”? He was a total fill-in-the-blank, but I can’t really blame him for that move. I mean, really, Paul Anka? Really?
• Lean on Me is one of my very favorite songs, and I adore this Glee arrangement.

Who is as impressed by the transformation of Kelly Osbourne as I am?  Her performance on Dancing With The Stars is nothing short of fabulous whether it's the jive, samba, or waltz.  If you remember her early days…OK, even if you don't, you undoubtedly remember the photos…

…you'll agree she has come a long way.  Of course she is up against some tough competition.  I have to admit that having posters of Donny on my wall as a kid makes him the favorite in my eyes (yes I am that old), and honestly I don't think the talent is quite what it has been in seasons past.  I'm more excited to see the pros this year than the stars.

You sing like a girl – you know, in a good way.

Was this the best episode of Glee yet or what?? Oh my. I don't think it was the funniest, and I don't think it had the best songs – but this darned show made me cry!! Let's get to it:

The Synopsis
When Artie's chances of traveling with the group to Regionals are in question, Will challenges the kids to step out of their comfort zones and experience life from a different point of view. Meanwhile, the Glee Club hosts its first "diva-off" between Kurt and Rachel, and Sue reveals a softer side. (Fox.com)

My Thoughts

• Wow – that jump rope routine? AWE-SOME! I know we’re supposed to hate the Cheerios a little bit, but I wanted to see more of that routine!
• Oh, Artie! You break my heart!
• Wait, what? Artie likes Tina? Since when? Did I miss this? (Seriously. Did you all notice this before? Where have I been?)
• How cute were Puck and Quinn in the food fight? I don’t normally love them, but in that scene – Loved. Them.
• WHY did they have to call it a “diva-off”? Ick.
• Whoa! Tina doesn’t have a stutter? I did not see that coming!
• I’m totally impressed that they learned how to maneuver those wheelchairs so well. Loved “Proud Mary.”
• It’s too bad Kurt blew his audition. I was hoping Mr. Schuester would decide to make it a duet. They both sang it beautifully. And made me even more depressed that I’m not seeing Wicked when it comes to town.
• Sue. What can I say about Sue? She made me cry. More than once. And not by saying, “You think that’s hard?” Wow.

Is anyone else going through Glee withdrawal? I mean, baseball is great and all, but when you mess with my Glee-watching? Not cool.

Fortunately, the good people in charge of all things Glee saw this coming (Apparently this baseball deal happens every year. Who knew?), and they’ve released the first Glee Soundtrack this week!

No longer do you have to scour Youtube for the best recordings of your favorite Glee songs. (What? Don’t even tell me I’m the only one who did that!) You can own the soundtrack today.

The Backstreet Boys are making a comeback that most likely tops all other comebacks that have been seen lately. The group has been together for sixteen years. Sixteen! Years! I've been a fan ever since I heard their first single. As a twenty four year old, this makes me feel almost as old as I felt when I could still remember listening to New Kids on the Block.

Their latest album, "This is Us," which released October 6th, delivers an amazing combo of R&B and techno, liberally coated with the vocal talents that put the Backstreet Boys on the map in the first place. The Boys worked with top names like RedOne and T-Pain, so prepare yourself for some auto-tuning, but it's not overdone, which is a welcome relief. The group puts their very own twist on modern trends in pop music and make it their very own.

The beats are catchy and utterly danceable, the lyrics are clean, and the slower tunes will melt your heart. The only weak track of the album happens to be "PDA." I say weak because the lyrical content has echoes of material from New Kids on the Block's "The Block," and the heavy sexual innuendo doesn't fit Backstreet very well.

Otherwise, the album is a fabulous, bubble gum popping, R&B flashback to the days when I had a major crush on A.J. McLean, mixed with an edge of today's pop music. Favorite tracks include:

All this took place the night before Hollywood's Deluxe Laboratories for a screening of "New Moon" around 8:30 a.m.  Maybe it was all about the carpool….hmmm?
