How To Make Muffin Tin Lunches

If you haven’t jumped on the muffin-tin-lunch bandwagon yet, hop aboard!

It’s a terrific way to get your children to eat a variety of different foods in a fun and easy way!

We’ve been doing this every Monday for awhile now with different fruits, veggies, crackers and other food items chopped up into bite size pieces and my kids love it! You can put apple sauce, yogurt, carrot sticks, the possibilities are endless. They get so excited to see what different things they get!

A few weeks ago I bought a couple of silicone muffin baking cups so that I can just re-use them every day, don’t use liners at all or just use the silicone pans, it’s completely up to you.

Recently I ran across a blog called Sycamore Stirrings and she had a muffin tin lunch theme based on Children’s Literature. You should see some of the ideas her readers came up with! They were all so incredibly creative and fun looking! So we decided we’d try this at our house with one of our favorite books, The Hat by Jan Brett.

We used cookie cutters to cut out (bread) socks (stocking cutter), (cheese) dogs and (apple) little girls. I sliced up bananas and tomatoes and put some chocolate chip teddy grahams and applesauce as well. As the children ate up (without a single complaint) I read them the book. It was a very nice lunchtime indeed…
