Throughout my school years I used to be a very diligent student and now I know why: because of my family continuous support.
Supporting Homeschool With Learning Activities Together
My parents literally “finished” school together with me: they participated in all my learning activities, helped me when I needed help, found additional information on subjects I found interest with – they did everything they could to make my learning process more engaging. Because of that tremendous support I was learning with pleasure – it was easy, fun and effective.
Internet Resourcse for Homeschoolers
Now, being a mom and looking back, I am eager to be as supportive to my child during her school years. Luckily, I am also an Internet geek and I am aware of some great interactive web tools that may help me in my mission. This post is about one such tool – you will be amazed how much educational potential this free web app can offer:
ProProfs is a cool site which provides a variety of free educational tools that may come in handy for people of different ages and backgrounds. One of its most powerful application is the one allowing to create tests and quizzes which can be applied in various spheres of life: entertainment, website marketing and, naturally, education.
Examples
Here are a few examples of educational quizzes to demonstrate how useful the tool may turn when used properly:

Create a Quiz
To create a quiz you will need to provide the quiz name and description. Then proceed to brainstorming questions. The interface is very easy to use and clear – you are unlikely to have any problems with it.
You can add images and videos to your questions to make them more interactive and engaging:

The quiz supports various grading systems. You can grade your kids or students with:
- Letters;
- Using “excellent”, “good”, “bad” grades;
- Pass / Fail
For each grade you will need to specify the percentage of correct answers. You can also issue certificates with the result grade and sign that certificate with your name automatically:

You can even create your very own grading system.
Assess Your Kids’ / Students’ Knowledge
After your quiz has been taken by your kids or students, you can access various assessment tools allowing you to:
- Identify gaps in knowledge: See difficult and easy questions, spot trends and know which subject to cover in less or more depth.
- Identify who of your kids is better in which topics.
The analytics section consists of two parts: one (called “reports”) is used to list all quiz takers (their names, location, score and certificate). This section is particularly handy if you are teaching someone online. You can also download all / selected reports to store them locally:

The “analytics” section offers some great visualization tools enabling you to see which questions were the hardest:

Do you think the quiz maker could make an awesome teaching tool you may benefit a lot when educating your kids or students?
