Kleenex® is giving you the chance to win a $250 gift card by raising awareness of the importance of hands-on learning.
As an education-major I learned that hands on learning is one of the best types of learning for children. As a mother, I quickly learned that little kids are not always careful about WHAT they put their hands on. That’s why all Kleenex® Brand tissues have Sneeze Shield – to help keep kids’ hands clean.
Sometimes it’s tough to know what hands-on learning entails. How can I use hands-on activities to supplement my child’s schoolwork? Prepare my child for the educational activities their teacher has planned this year?
To help answer these questions, Kleenex® Brand, the only brand with Sneeze Shield on all their tissues, is working with parents and teachers alike to create a hands-on learning guide. In fact, they recently sponsored a Hands-On Learning Day where Patrice McCrary, a long-time Kindergarten teacher, demonstrated and taught fabulous hands-on learning techniques. Here’s a video clip of some highlights from that day.
I think my favorite idea from the video was the color activity. Talk about hands-on! What is your favorite tip for hands-on learning? Or a favorite activity you remember from your school days?

Love Kleenex! I once had a friend who worked for P&G and tried to convert me to Puffs, I just couldn’t do it. LOL
And I know this is about tissues but I also can not live without the Cottonelle wipes! They are a bathroom staple!!
We’re a Kleenex loyal family. LOVE the Sneeze Shield! Now if I could just train my kids to use one every time they sneeze. Baby steps.

And after a weekend in Chicago, my allergies are acting CRAZY.
This post took me way down Memory Lane but the more I thought of it, the more impressed I was with the very “hands on nature” of this particular learning experience from my youth.

After two weeks of a cold, Kleenex makes my nose happy.
Shared my first born headed to Kindergarten today and his hand on activities that he did. Definitely a memory I’ll cherish. Thanks for the opportunity.

We’ve been having fun using beads for learning and sorting colors, counting, and also making bracelets and necklaces to learn about patterns. My daughter thinks it’s fun and doesn’t even realize that it’s educational!
