Autumn is becoming our season of interruption. Last year my oldest was making her Confirmation and my son was preparing for his black belt test. This year is my youngest child’s first “official” homeschooling year, we had a funeral the beginning of October and now we are trying to find a home for a stray cat (we already have four cats, so we can’t keep her).
And then there are the colds and viruses.
Sickness happens, and homeschoolers are not immune. If you are like me, you spend at least a few days a week interacting with the world. We are at the library once or twice a week, one child takes ballet, another is in Tae Kwon Do. We have a homeschooling nature class we attend at a county park and then there are the day to day errands and shopping trips. It is near impossible to avoid catching something and completely impossible to avoid sharing it with the rest of the family.
I wonder if it would be healthier to be unsocialized?
