Navigating the sea of curriculum can be treacherous! The choices available are by the thousands, all claiming to bring academic success. An effective way to narrow your choices is by shopping according to your child’s learning style.
I created the free Learning Styles Handbook & Curriculum Buying Guide eBook to make curriculum shopping more effective and less stressful. Save time, energy, and money by using your child’s learning style as your shopping guide.
Ready for shopping to go easier this year? Click the link above to download the 24-page eBook. Then, print the worksheet on page 9 for each of your children.
Start With Your Child’s Learning Style
Visual, auditory and kinesthetic (modalities) describe ways information is learned. Your child learns efficiently when you provide lessons and activities that match his modality.
Auditory Learners – Learn best when information is presented verbally. Use lectures, oral presentations, books-on-cd, music, reading aloud, and songs.
Kinesthetic Learners – Learn best through movement and touch. Use hands-on activities, drawing, doodling, live demonstrations, building, textured materials, manipulatives and whole body movement activities.
Visual Print Learners – learn best through words. Use workbooks, reading, writing, highlighting printed material, and taking notes.
Visual Spatial Learners – learn best through pictures. Use visuals such as videos, computers, drawings, web mapping, timelines, stories, charts and diagrams.
Grab your worksheet and fill in the characteristics of your child’s learning modality (these are listed on pages 7-8 of the eBook).
