Do you remember the good old days when crafting branched from recycled TP rolls and bottle caps? Some of us still use these forms of recycling in our kids crafts. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle aren’t new concepts to the world of handmade, and are just as important today as they were back then. These days the online community of crafters, business owners and designers have formed a new buzz word called “up-cycled”. Up-cycling simply means taking something that is disposable and forming it into something valuable and useful again. This concept can be used from anything from clothing to furniture and everything in between. In my new feature Creatively Green I hope to bring you some of these concepts for you to use in your own lives. I also hope to introduce you to designers who are already practicing up-cycling with a fresh approach as well as-eco friendly products for all of your creating needs.
Do you scrapbook? Create art, projects that require embellishments? I fell in love with Kits and Caboodles when I first saw them and I think you will too.
