We’ve all heard jokes about people forgetting their wedding anniversary. And you’ve probably even wondered, on occassion, how could anyone forget their anniversary? Well, it may surprise you to hear that today, for about 15 minutes, give or take five, I (your fearless Wedded Bliss editor) forgot that today is my wedding anniversary!

I woke up this morning, turned over and pulled the covers up to my chin not quite ready to face the day. Then I rolled to my back and tried to remember what day is was. I figured out it was Wednesday and hazily remembered the plans we had for the day (we’re gonna make pickles*.) I got up, stumbled to the kitchen, started the coffee, fielded the onslaught of questions from my four year old (that he saves up all night to ask me first thing in the morning), let the dog out and turned on my computer.

It wasn’t until I logged into Facebook and saw this, that I remembered:

So there you have it folks, after fourteen years of wedded bliss (and even with the ups and downs it has truly been lovely!) one can, if only for few minutes, forget that it is one’s anniversary!

*I’m sure somewhere it’s written that 14 years is the pickle anniversary, right?
