Tuesday was our 13^th wedding anniversary. Our son
was sick with a stomach virus. Our daughter had a dentist appointment. Laundry
was piled up around me and the peaches I was going to use to make a special
dessert that night had gone bad. Just another day in paradise, right?

Still, we were able to salvage the day. I had already
planned to make a special dinner that night for the four of us and while I was
preparing dinner, a special delivery arrived at our door. It was three dozen
red roses! We dined that evening by candlelight, the heady scent of roses
mingling with the aroma of grilled steaks and asparagus.
