Any? The Bible is full of marital advice! Interestingly, one of the scriptures I find most pertinent to marriage isn’t one that was written solely for marriage.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” (Ephesians 4:29 NIV)

Wow. That’s a tall order, at least for me. No unwholesome talk? Not even after a long day with whining children and tight deadlines and bad food and budget arguments?
Not even then.
Naturally, I fail at this on a regular basis. Sometimes even daily. Luckily, God offers me grace and mercy as I stumble along trying to follow Him.
So I ask you: If you reflect on this verse in the context of your marriage, what does it mean for you? Tongue biting? Eager listening? A massive dose of patience?
As couples, we are called to honor God by honoring one another. Ephesians 4:29 offers us a great place to start.

Of course the bible has MUCH marital advice. It follows that if the author of the Bible, God, also originated marriage, that he would give advice for the ages to make it work. If married people would accept accountability to the author of the bible, and the originator of marriage, then the success rate would rise astronomically.
