You know the scene. It’s late, you’re tired or he’s tired or even you’re both tired but…you’re in bed and it’s dark and the kids are asleep but…you’re tired. What’s a couple to do?
Scheduling Sex
It may not sound romantic or even doable, but you could schedule it. Make a note of it on your calendar, assign a time for it in your Outlook, have GMail send you a reminder. Sure, there’s some controversy out there. Apparently Madonna’s soon to be ex-husband took issue with her scheduling sex into her day, but as one lady at Betty Confidential said,
I think that life gets so busy that if you don’t schedule things that are important to you – sex and workouts included – then they can get lost along the way. It may not be the most romantic thing in the world to schedule sex, but hey, it gives you something to anticipate, you know you’re gonna get it…
But when do busy couples find time to schedule sex? As Andy Selsberg says in his article, ”Smack Your Sex Schedule Around”, from this month’s GQ,
It takes a conscious effort, but we have to work to find under appreciated sweet spots. Check out mid-evening, after the dishes are done. Actually – forget the dishes – let’s make that love seat earn its name. Or maybe a lunch-break rendezvous can be arranged? This is what Odwalla bars were made for: scarf one down in the elevator after a power lunch with your [spouse].
We all know that sex reconnects us and enhances our marriages, let’s make an effort to make sure it stays at the top of our “to do” lists!
