“In the cottage there is joy when there’s love at home; Hate and envy ne’er annoy When there’s love at home. Roses bloom beneath our feet; All the earth’s a garden sweet, making life a bliss complete when there’s love at home.”
Many of us are familiar with this Hymn — and it is so true; many times it is the love in the home that makes it beautiful.
Needing a gift for my husband I came up with this idea. A notebook. (he has all the tools one man could use. =) Now stay with me on this. It’s not just any notebook; it is a notebook of love.
Each night before I go to bed I write something in this little book. Words of encouragement, gratitude, or just mushy love stuff. This book is all about him and for him. I look for things during the day that he does or says and then I take the time to thank him for his service in this little book.
Then I place the notebook by his bedside; ready to be read just before he goes to sleep.
It was just a simple gift, but it is one that “he” says is the best gift he has ever received.
Do you have someone who could use a little notebook in your home?
A simple little notebook can make our home beautiful.

This is a great idea!! I’m thinking I should get one for Kent, but also for our children as they come along; maybe I could make it a once-a-week thing for me to write in their books for them about how much I love them.
Thanks so much for the idea!
