Spring Break conjures all sorts of images, doesn’t it? From girls on the beach to families at amusement parks, everyone has their own idea of the perfect vacation.
But what about the stress?
Does the idea of Spring Break leave you wondering what part of the “break” you get to enjoy? For parents with kids, a week off of school can be fun-filled but exhausting. Couple time can be non-existent.
How can you make Spring Break fun for the two of you, too?
- Watch your pennies. Make sure you spend your time in a way that doesn’t cause financial stress. If you can’t afford Disney this year, don’t do it. There’s an awful lot to be said for enjoying downtime at home without breaking the bank.
- Have a Spring Break plan. Whether you’re driving to Florida, jetting off to London, or trying a staycation, you need a plan. Things will go more smoothly if you know what the morning and afternoon activities are and you have an approximate timeframe for everything.
- Use your plan to carve out time for the two of you. Are you hitting the zoo in the morning? A local indoor pool in the afternoon? After a big day like that, the kids will all need a little quiet time. They can read or play in their rooms, or watch a video on the couch. Take this time to connect with one another and be sure to build in some time for this every day. Even half an hour will do wonders.
Enjoy your Spring Break!
