At the center of the new movie Fireproof is The Love Dare, a book that the movie’s main character is challenged to read to help his failing marriage. The book is a 40-day challenge that offers daily reading, Scripture, and a dare, all aimed at strengthening the love and bond of the couple.
This book is for all couples, whether your marriage is strong or on the rocks, whether newlyweds or seasoned veterans. My husband and I will be celebrating our 6th anniversary soon, and I would say that we have a fairly strong marriage. However, we are both realistic in that there is always room for improvement.
My plan for reading this book is to do the reading myself and share the daily dare with my husband over dinner. Hubby is currently a full-time grad student in addition to working full-time, so I know that he does not have time to read another book right now. We are looking forward to our nightly conversation!
I would like to challenge you to buy the book and read along with me. I will post weekly recaps, and we can discuss what we are learning at The League. Won’t you join me?

This type of book is right up my alley! I’m certainly going to buy it, though, I won’t be a married woman till December.
Hey, its never too early, right?
Jill, I think it’s wonderful that you want to get your marriage off on the right foot. Good for you! So glad you’ll be joining us!
I have heard great things about this book! I’ll have to make a trip to my local Christian bookstore tomorrow to pick one up. Thanks for suggesting it! I’m looking forward to reading it and hearing what other women and couples are learning!
