With Mothers Day this weekend, I bet many of you are starting to think about Father’s Day.  What gift to give?

Want my advice?  One word… TOOLS!

I’m like a tool nut. I dream of giant machines that do amazing things to wood and metal.  I dream of upgrading my good-ol circular saw with a new model that runs like it was on rails; literally.  But what if I was normal?  What if I had been brought up in a real life, rather than on a construction site…what would I want then?

I’d want a green bag.  “The Green Bag” is the affectionate name we have in my house for a multi-tool kit of 18 volt cordless tools.  All the tools run on cordless 18 Volt Lithium-Ion batteries.  No cords to trip over, lots of power to work with. There is a drill (more often used as a screwdriver!), a circular saw (works great!), a reciprocating saw (a.k.a. – sawzall), and a cool flashlight.  I’ve added a cordless router, and a cordless jigsaw.

I don’t know how I ever made it without this bag.  Almost every job I do around the house involves one or more of the tools that live in it.  Plus it’s bright and easy to find; better for when I work until I can’t see any more, which is rare, but happens.

I had the Green Bag in The Remodeling Guy General Store but we seem to be out of stock.  You might find one at a local retailer.  But I do have many great tools over in the store if you want to tool shop for Fathers Day.
