When times are tough it’s tempting to try every frugal tip we have ever
read. After a week of depravity and exhaustion, we often give up,
splurge and end up in worse shape than if we had done nothing at all.
Most of us can’t go from buying designer shoes and daily cappuccinos to
making laundry detergent and rewashing baggies in one day. It takes
time to adjust to a new lifestyle.
If you are seeking a more frugal
existence start small. Challenge yourself to make one change a month.
A great place to start is brewing coffee at home. You will save around
$80 the first month with almost no effort. Successfully meeting your first challenge
will make you feel empowered and ready to take the next step.
So, what are you waiting for?

I agree!!!
I began trying to cut costs with groceries and do $50 one week, $15 the next, for two of us….who formerly (formerly=June) spent $100+ PER WEEK.
I decided on $55 a week and for 2 weeks I have hit it on the nail. Wish me luck today, but I know I can do it! Woot!
This is so true. Remember when you see someone who IS doing all that frugal stuff-they didn’t start doing it right away either, but have added items over the years until they got to the point they are at.
Great reminder. I’m learning that I can’t eat one way today and expect to go completely vegan tomorrow. Baby steps are what its all about. Today, I won’t buy any chip ending in “o’s”, maybe next month it will be any kind of chips?!
